Driver Manager

Department: Field Managers
Location: Augusta, GA

Quala is North America’s largest independent network of tank cleaning, maintenance, and industrial services offering comprehensive inspections, testing, and repairs for the chemical, food, and transportation industries. We service a variety of bulk containers, including: Tank Trailers, IBC/ Totes containers, ISO containers, Railcars, Roll-off containers, and FRAC Tanks.

We are seeking a Driver Manager to oversee and coordinate our fleet of drivers and ensure the efficient and safe transportation of goods. The Driver Manager will be responsible for supervising and training drivers, monitoring performance, and implementing processes to improve productivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise a team of drivers, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and adherence to company policies
  • Schedule and assign drivers for daily routes and deliveries, taking into consideration customer requirements and road conditions
  • Monitor driver performance, including adherence to safety regulations, delivery timelines, and customer service standards
  • Conduct regular driver training sessions to improve skills and knowledge on safe driving practices, customer service, and company procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to driver schedules, vehicle maintenance, and customer interactions
  • Investigate and resolve any driver complaints, accidents, or compliance issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and propose improvements to existing processes
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture, promoting open communication and continuous learning

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in transportation or logistics is a plus
  • Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within the transportation industry
  • In-depth knowledge of DOT transportation regulations, including hours of service, road safety, and driver qualifications
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a diverse team of drivers
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
  • Proficient in using transportation management software and technologies
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines while maintaining professionalism and composure
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Familiarity with local roads and traffic regulations
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as required by business need
