The Chief Data & AI Officer is a leader responsible for enterprise-wide governance, AI and utilization of data as a strategic asset. This role defines and leads the organization’s data strategy, ensuring data quality, integrity, accessibility, and security across all functions. This role is instrumental in aligning data strategy with cutting-edge technological advancements, including APIs, EDI, data engineering, and cloud solutions. Ideal candidates will bring a strong foundation in emerging fields such as computer vision, Generative AI, Robotics and AI/ML to unlock new opportunities and deliver transformative solutions.

Hybrid role will be located in Houston, TX or Tampa, FL

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and execute a comprehensive data and AI/ML strategy that supports DCI’s vision and business objectives.
• Lead the design and deployment of scalable AI/ML solutions across diverse domains, including computer vision, and Robotics.
• Data Strategy & Governance:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive enterprise data strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Establish data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance.
  • Oversee the organization's data architecture, platforms, and integration capabilities.
• Oversee data engineering and analytics operations, ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and insights generation.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate data-driven decision-making across all projects and platforms.
• Develop and manage API & EDI strategies that enable seamless integration of AI/ML functionalities into customer and internal systems.
• Build and maintain a state-of-the-art customer portal providing a one-stop shop to all DCI’s customers with near real time information at their fingertips.
• Build and maintain a robust cloud infrastructure to support data storage, processing, and AI/ML model deployment.
• Pioneer innovative use cases for AI/ML in computer vision, Robotics, and other emerging technologies, enhancing business value and customer experiences.
• Champion data governance, compliance, and security, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and inspire a team of data scientists, engineers, and analysts to drive innovation and excellence in AI/ML initiatives.

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of experience in data management, data analytics, or information governance roles.
• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, AI/ML, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven executive leadership experience, ideally as a senior data leader or similar role in a complex, data-rich organization.
• Deep knowledge of data governance, data architecture, regulatory compliance, and emerging technologies.
• Strong understanding of business strategy and how to translate data into business value.
• Proven expertise in full-stack web development, APIs, data engineering, and cloud technologies.
• Demonstrated ability to apply AI/ML in practical and transformative ways, with experience in computer vision, and Robotics being a strong plus.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and change management skills.
• Advanced degree in data science, computer science, information systems, or a related field preferred.
• Familiarity with emerging AI/ML trends, tools, and methodologies, and a track record of driving their successful implementation.
